Following their appearance before the agency to record their statements, YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia were questioned by Maharashtra Cyber officials for around five hours on Monday about the issue surrounding India’s Got Latent show, sources said. The Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Cyber are looking into Allahbadia’s offensive comments on Samay Raina’s YouTube show, which led to an obscenity charge.

Following Allahbadia’s offensive remarks regarding parents and sex, which sparked a lot of outrage, the show India’s Got Latent came into the spotlight. An official stated without providing any details that Allahbadia and Chanchlani arrived at the cyber headquarters at approximately 11.30 am, after which their statements were recorded. Around 5:00 p.m., Allahbadia was spotted leaving the headquarters wearing a black face mask to evade the reporters.
He got into a luxury taxi and drove off, while Chanchlani drove off an hour later. Maharashtra Cyber called in about 50 individuals involved in the show, including judges, comedians, social media personalities, and guests. Allegations of obscenity against Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, are part of the investigation. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court awarded Allahbadia temporary protection from arrest, describing his comments as “vulgar” and claiming that his “dirty mind” embarrassed society.

To keep Allahbadia from leaving the country without authorization, the court ordered him to cooperate with the continuing investigations and turn up his passport to the Thane police. A hearing on the case has been set for March 3. Allahbadia was the target of multiple FIRs. A citizen of Guwahati filed a formal complaint (FIR) on February 17 for allegedly promoting obscenity in a publicly available internet program. Chanchlani, comedians Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, and Rakhi Sawant, who made an appearance as a guest on the show, are also named in the complaint with Allahbadia and Raina.
According to police, Sawant was called to appear before Maharashtra Cyber on February 27. Allahbadia, Raina, and others had already been called before the National Commission for Women (NCW) to appear before it on February 17. However, many others were unable to come in person because of logistical problems and safety concerns.
