According to film industry tracker AB George’s tweet on X (previously Twitter), Officer on Duty has signed a solid OTT contract with Netflix before its theatrical debut. In an era when many films, even big-star projects, are having difficulty getting streaming rights or fetching expensive sums, Officer on Duty was able to seal its contract with the streaming giant early. The film, written by Shahi Kabir, continues his successful run of police dramas.
While ‘Officer on Duty’ has negotiated a solid OTT contract with Netflix, neither the filmmakers nor Netflix have made an official announcement about the streaming platform or the release date.
Officer on Duty Storyline
Harishankar (Hari), a tough and volatile police officer (DYSP), was recently reduced to the rank of CI. He receives a complaint about a man named Chandrababu trying to mortgage a phony gold chain. What begins as a simple case quickly turns into an inquiry into a string of heinous crimes, some of which are tied to his sorrow. The rest of the novel follows Hari as he deals with his anger issues while finding the truth about the crimes.
