Pawandeep, son of Suresh Rajan, a resident of Champawat in Uttarakhand, is the winner of the Indian singing reality TV show Indian Idol 12. According to the police, on Sunday night Pawandeep was going from home to Noida with his friend Ajay Mehra.

During this time, his car was being driven by driver Rahul Singh. As soon as his car got down from the Chaupala Chauraha Overbridge in Gajraula police station area at around 2.30 in the night, it hit a canter standing on the side of the highway from behind. This accident happened due to driver Rahul Singh dozing off. Singer Pawandeep, his companion Ajay Mehra and driver Rahul Singh were seriously injured in the accident.
After the accident, a crowd of people gathered. The police reached the spot and took the injured out of the car and admitted them to a government hospital. From where the doctor referred all three to Moradabad. Seeing the serious condition of all three, the police admitted them to the ICU of a private hospital located on the highway in Didauli.
As soon as the information was received, the family of singer Pawandeep reached the hospital. After first aid, all three were taken to Noida for better treatment. According to the doctors, both the legs of Pawandeep are fractured and he has also suffered a head injury.
CO Shwetaabh Bhaskar said that both the damaged vehicles have been taken into custody. Further action will be taken on the basis of the complaint in the case. The accident happened due to the driver of the car dozing off.
